Implementation of Hit-Highlighter

Hello everyone,

Further to my call with Rob Wiesenberg, Contegra Rob this morning, I understand that there might be some confusion on how Contegra's hit-highlighter is getting integrated into Full Text Search for the new application. Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa and Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi could you please provide Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh and the team with direction on where these requirements are located within the relevant user stories. To give context to hit-highlighter, here is a video showing how hit-highlighter is currently integrated into the legacy application.

Reading through the user story above, it doesn't look like we provided specific requirements on how PDF results would be viewed. All we did was refer back to how they are displayed in the legacy application. Given the requirements as they currently stand, how should the UI be setup to access the hit-highlighting results vs. the dtSearch generated excerpts?

This is as far as we can take the requirements without input on what is possible from the search implementation. Based on the legacy app implementation, we assume excerpts can be displayed in a similar way for both HTML and PDF results.

Ok Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa , but we should probably provide direction on where the hit-highlighter link should be located in the UI. I think Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh and the team are integrating the excerpts into the UI in a similar way to the HTML document (i.e., the applicable page links will open the excerpts generated by dtSearch -  Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh please correct me if I'm wrong on this), but we should be determining how the user accesses the hit-highlighter results.
