Local Application Build

Hello all,

Further to the meeting with Partnerships BC yesterday, we received some feedback that caused us to reconsider or expand how we offer P3LG (or ILG - assuming that becomes the new name) to users. The P3 Prototype is designed as a public facing web application. However, feedback we received yesterday has caused us to consider expanding this to build a local application that could be used to examine private confidential documents that are tagged and compared against publicly available documents. This aspect of the product would need to be a local application, because organizations will not allow private confidential documents to be uploaded to our servers, nor would we want to assume the risk of having such data on our servers.

Devaang Bhatt Devaang , does DevIT have the experience and capacity to build an application that  would be locally installed on users computers, and would interface with the public web application?

Stephen Ceresia, Industrial Stephen , does Industrial have experience designing and building local applications similar to what I'm proposing?

Please circulate your thoughts. Also, I'm open to other ideas that would allows users to integrate private confidential documents without the data residing on our servers.

Thanks,

Morgan

Sure, Morgan.

We can develop desktop applications using .NET technologies and Windows Presentation Framework (WPF). This desktop application can talk to the public web application using Web Services or Windows Services which should be always running on the desktop computer. This stuff is pretty standard and very much do-able.

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

As DevIT already has the experience and insight into the development of P3LG/ILG, we feel they would be a better fit for this one.

Thanks,
Stephen

Great. Thanks Devaang Bhatt Devaang and Stephen Ceresia, Industrial Stephen .

Stephen Ceresia, Industrial Stephen , would Industrial be to assist with UX design for a local application, or are you suggesting we find someone else for those responsibilities as well?

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

Sorry for the confusion - I was referring only to the development. Industrial can definitely still assist with the UX/Design portion.

Thanks,
Stephen

Perfect. Thanks Stephen Ceresia, Industrial Stephen

We'll put this on the agenda for discussion when we're ready for the next steps on ILG (P3LG).
