Content Layouts
Hi all,
I've reviewed the Content Layout with the perspective that they will be the blueprint for both the wireframes and the copy.
Quietly folks, I'm not sure what your typical process is, but it would be great if we can work somewhat in tandem, where we work ahead on wireframes, then get some content from you, then continue on the wireframes. The more "real" content we can work with (even if it's in draft) in the wireframe process, the better.
We can work with placeholder content for the following items. They are pretty conventional and already pretty structured in the content layout:

We can work with placeholder content for the following items. They are pretty conventional and already pretty structured in the content layout:
- Calls to action (single buttons)
- Social proof
- Customer testimonials
- Video descriptions
- Webinars
- Events description
- List of events
- Meet the team
- Contact details
- Sign up instructions and messaging
- About ISLG text
Content that will get structured during the UX/UI design process. It would be great to work with real content instead of placeholder:
- Value propositions
- Start your trial call to action.
- Short list of key product features.
- Full list of product features. Depending on the number of features, we would probably organize it by Functional area + Description (short paragraph) + Features (list) + Screenshots. For example, we handled the product feature page for our own product like this: https://wicket.io/tour
Quietly or Monica, will you be proposing stock images in your process? We usually curate imagery from istock for the mockups unless the client has their own photography.
Thanks
Megan
The guidelines I will provide will show examples for each of the areas you saw today. Feel free to use those and if you need more, you can search for more, similar in style. I can also look for specific header images for each landing page if you want me to, too. Does this make sense?

Morgan, we'll also be looking for headshots for the Meet the Team section.
Thanks
Megan
We will deliver the copy in two sprints on November 21 & December 1. The first sprint will include the Product, News & Events, Contact Us and Start Your Trial pages, so that should provide Industrial with the fields needed to complete design work (value propositions, CTAs, key features, etc.)
Morgan, when do you expect to be able to send us team bios and any additional information for the About page?
Thanks all,
Haley
The headshots are getting scheduled for some time in December. I'm waiting confirmation on the exact dates. Note that we'll be getting in-house headshots for the ISLG team members (Paul Moon, Subash Kuttan, Marysia Raptis, Irit Weinfeld and myself). The plan is to get the editors and legal analysts (data capture analysts) to provide us with their own headshots. Does that sounds appropriate?
Also, I have to ask whether Chris wants to do this, but should we give more recognition to the founders of Tologix/ISLG (Greg Tereposky and Chris Thomas), or should we save this for when we update the Tologix site? Note that Chris may have concerns about publicly affiliating himself as a founder, because it may open himself up to arbitrator challenges.
For the bios, what is the recommended length for the ISLG team member, editors, data capture analysts and founders (if needed)?
Thanks,
Morgan
Jumping in to provide some recommendations on the headshots and bios...
Re: Editors & Legal Analysts. If possible, we'd recommend for every headshot to look the same. From a brand perspective, this reflects consistency and consistency builds confidence and credibility in the brand (across all touch points). However, if you were to request them to provide their own headshots, I'd suggest putting some criteria around it - e.g. headshot of shoulders and up on a white background (we don't want to see any FB pictures with people cut off!).
Re: Chris. I don't think we need to give him 'more' recognition, but if he's comfortable it would be great to put a face behind Tologix since we will be weaving that into the About us narrative.
I'll let Alica & Haley speak to Bio length.
Cheers,
t
Getting all the headshots to look exactly the same is going to be difficult, because our editors/legal analysts work for us remotely from around the world. However, I'll request that the criteria you've recommended be followed. Note that we'll be using BLG's in-house photographer, and the headshots will look similar to the one below (this is Paul). We might be able to get them to do it with a white background. Also, we could ditch the jacket and tie if that's what you recommend.

Let me know about the length of the bios for the different categories, and I’ll send out instructions to everyone.
Morgan
With regards to the bios themselves, we would recommend the following:
Name, Title (editor, etc.), bio (approx. 40 words, or ~3 sentences), bar admission, education.
Alternatively, we could include Name, Title, Bio, and a hyperlink to their LinkedIn account where readers could learn more about their bar admission and education.
Best,
Haley
I’ll send instructions out to everyone to provide me with the relevant material.
Thanks,
Morgan
Best,
Haley
