👀 Timeline for launching new ISLG site
Hello all,
We are getting close to launching the new ISLG site. Here is the timeline:
We are getting close to launching the new ISLG site. Here is the timeline:
- Tuesday, April 3rd: ISLG will provide DevIT with updated Publication Citator data (via Basecamp 2).
- Wednesday, April 4th: DevIT will batch upload Publication Citator data to dev.islg, and ISLG and Industrial will perform testing.
- Thursday, April 5th: Assuming no issues arise during ISLG/Industrial testing, DevIT will migrate Publication Citator data to www.islg.
- Friday, April 6th: DevIT will migrate new.islg to dev.islg, and ISLG and Industrial will perform necessary testing.
- Monday, April 9th: DevIT will migrate dev.islg (with new site) to www.islg, and ISLG will swap and update all brand collateral.
Note that work on new.islg will continue over the next few days while we complete work on the Publication Citator; therefore, please respond today to any outstanding to-do's that require your feedback: Feedback for new site - TOLOGIX - ISLG Public & Members Site Design.
Please share any comments or concerns.
Thanks,
Morgan

We're off to a bad start. There are problems with the Publication Citator that need to resolved on dev.islg before we can perform the migration to www.islg. As a result, the schedule above is pushed back 1 day. We're now working towards an April 10th launch date.
Thanks,
Morgan
It is not necessary to move new.islg on dev.islg. Instead we can restore the latest SQL database on new.islg (latest data with publication citator). If everything is OK on new.islg then we can directly migrate new.islg to www.islg. Please let us know your thoughts.
Whatever you think is the best approach for maintaining the integrity of the data and application. Let's proceed with moving the latest data (including changes to the Publication Citator) to new.islg, and then we'll move directly to www.islg when this is ready.
Thanks,
Morgan
We will do this migration tomorrow.
We have transferred publication citator data and tool on new.islg. We have done some fundamental changes in this tool to resolve the speed issue. Also we have resolved the search issue that you posted in below thread.

We are still facing few issues with bookmarking that will be resolved by tomorrow as we have planned to work tomorrow because of deadline.
Now latest site and data are available on new.islg. Once your testing will be completed and everything will be OK then we can migrate this to live.
Thanks
Morgan
We have resolved issues regarding publication citator bookmarking. Please review and let us know the feedback.
The bookmarks are working well; however, they are appearing when the user logs in with IP authentication (see screenshot).
With the exception of the issue above, and some minor outstanding issues in the to-do list, the new.islg is looking good.
As a reminder, here are the new.islg URLs:

It would take 2-3 hours to migrate new.islg on www.islg and during these hours the live site might be down. Hope this fine.
To sync publication citator's data from new.islg to www.islg would be difficult within a specific time period. Please suggest if we can copy publication citator's data from the excel files that you provided and new entries for publication citator on new.islg (if any) can be done again on www.islg.
The bookmarks issue in Publication Ciator has resolved. Now, the bookmark option will be appear when user login with notepad.
Please check and confirm.
Understood. The 2-3 hour downtime is fine. However, is it possible to display the following message to users during the downtime:
ISLG is performing important upgrades, and the site is currently unavailable. Access will be restored as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For more details, you can contact us at support@investorstatelawguide.com
For the Publication Citator sync, we've provided you with an updated Master List here: Corrupt data in Publication Citator for IC/0104/02 - TOLOGIX - ISLG Public & Members Site Design.
Also, as a backup, before you migrate new.islg to www.islg, could you please sync the data between dev.islg and www.islg. That way, if there an issue with migrating new.islg to www.islg, we can easily revert batch to the old site by using dev.islg.
Thanks,
Morgan
Anil, in addition to syncing down to dev.islg prior to the release, could you also please take a full backup of www.islg?
Ryan
How did the migration go? I see the new site is up, but I just want to confirm that everything was successful.
Thanks,
Morgan
Morgan
The migration went successful. We were also able to migrate all publication citator data successfully. We have tested all basic functionalities of the site and seems working well. Please test entire site and provide your feedback so that we can do more fine tuning if any.
Please clear your cache before start reviewing.
It's looking great! One thing I've noticed so far is that the browser <title> and meta descriptions are missing on the pages. See screenshot.
Further the Anil's message above, please ensure that you clear your cache before performing your tests.
Thanks,
Morgan
We've complete our testing, and there are a few issues that we'd like resolved on www.islg:
When this is complete, please perform a backup of dev.islg, and then integrate the new site into dev.islg. After this is complete, we'll resume performing all development work on dev.islg, and then migrate selected tasks through to www.islg on a weekly schedule.
Let us know if you have concerns with any of the above.
Thanks,
Morgan
This sounds good to us. We will migrate new.islg to dev.islg once all above issues will be completed.
Could you confirm whether the browser titles and meta descriptions have been completed? It appears everything else is complete, and I just want to confirm before we proceed to updating dev.islg.
Thanks,
Morgan
Unfortunately doesn't look like they have yet.
The browser title and meta text can be found at:
Could you please add this as a to-do in this project, and we'll deal with this their. Also, I don't think this issue is urgent, so we'll move forward with updating dev.islg.
Thanks,
Morgan
Thanks!
Ryan
We have taken full backup of dev.islg and migrated the new site successfully on dev.islg. We have also synced latest www.islg's SQL database with dev.islg.
Please check and confirm.
Ryan
I believe this project has reached completion. There are a few outstanding to-do's that I'll transfer into the ISLG Maintenance project. I've downloaded all the Docs & Files and stored them on our Egnyte server (Shared\ISLG\Database Development & Maintenance\New ISLG site documents from Basecamp) For the time bring, let's keep this project open for legacy purposes (unless
The new site looks great, and I've already received a number of complements from users, editors and our board members. Congrats and thank you to everyone for all your hard work!
