Document Upload Flow

Hello all,

Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh and Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh sent me an email inquiring how we're going to deal with the document upload process within ILG. The following manual outlines the current process in prototype:
Guillaume Morin-Simard, UX Designer/Researcher at Industrial Guillaume and Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa could you please review and confirm that this is aligned with how you think things should work. Also, Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh has pointed out some differences in the document flow between the ILG prototype and what is proposed in the ISLG Rebuild. Given that we're trying to keep the platforms consistent between ILG and ISLG, should we be concerned with these difference?

Thanks,

Morgan

We have reviewed the document flow and have the following comments, suggestions and questions regarding it:

  • Managing projects is accessible by clicking on the Projects menu item as per wireframes (no longer under Settings)
  • All meta-field management for projects is done through the Manage Meta-Fields feature, accessible under Settings
    • It should NOT be possible to add a meta-field to a single, specific project only
  • Managing documents should be accessible via a "Documents" link in the main menu, between Projects and Tag Directory, instead of via a ILG Database link
    • Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan as we did with the tag directory, do we want to get rid of folders here, as documents should be linked to projects?
  • Same as for projects, all meta-field management for documents is done through the Manage Meta-Fields feature, accessible under Settings
    • It should NOT be possible to add a meta-field to a single, specific document only

Hi Guillaume Morin-Simard, UX Designer/Researcher at Industrial Guillaume , Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh and Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh

Let's leave the folder structure for the documents as is for the time being. Removing the folders would require restructuring the document database, and I want to focus on the tools necessary for the subject-matter expert trial. Also, if we were going to remove the folder structure, we would need to modify/enhance the search filtering capability so that documents could be isolated based on projects.

Let's focus on the elements necessary for the changes to the tagging and meta field process, and then we'll come back to this after the subject matter expert trial.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

You know we have created new project structure for ILG project because of proper structure and security concepts so in that We have implemented folder structures for the documents,  if you are thinking for the time being than I am let you know it is implemented in new ILG also so let me know what should we do for folder structure for the documents? it will remain as it is or need to remove? Please let me know.

Hi Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh ,

As I stated above, please keep the folder structure for documents in place if that is already what you've already implemented.

Thanks,

Morgan
