Further to the video below there are four issues that need to be resolved with the keyword search results:
- Open view entire document automatically scrolls down to the first tagged highlight. Remove this requirement. Open to the top of the document, and the user can browse through the highlights as they see fit.
- The number of keyword matches on the results page doesn't match up with the number of keyword highlights when you open the document. Make the number of keyword matches reflect the number of instances where the entire phrases searched has a match (i.e., the number of keyword highlights).
- Ensure that the alignment of the page when browsing through tagged/keyword highlights is the same when browsing up and down through the text.
- I believe displaying "0 of 4" next to the highlights is confusing.
, do you have a suggestion on dealing with this issue.
Melissa
Thanks,
Morgan
For #4 the simplest solution would be removing the 1/4, 2/4 etc, instead just displaying to total number of matches found (ie: 4 matches) and disabling the up or down arrow once you have reached the beginning or end of the list.
Alternatively, perhaps we could show the total number of matches by default, then display the count once the user starts navigating through the highlights.
Thanks,
Morgan
We have resolved #1 and #3 of above. Please review and let us know the feedback. Regarding #2, we are still looking into this as the keyword count result is generated by dtSearch itself. We will work on #4 as a low priority once all issues are resolved. Hope this is fine.
Issues #1 and #3 look great.
I'll move this to-do to post-prototype for resolving issues #2 and #4.
Thanks,
Morgan
#4 is uploaded on p3dev. Please review and feedback.
#4 is working well for me. See attached.

The only outstanding item is #2 on this to-do.
Thanks,
Morgan
Any update on getting #2 on this to-do resolved.
Thanks,
Morgan
We haven't found anything for #2 yet, currently we are focusing on PDF to HTML and get back to #2 later. Hope this is fine.
Yes, that's fine. As we discussed during our call yesterday, please continue to focus on PDF to HTML R&D, and we'll get back to these to-do's at a later stage.
Thanks,
Morgan
