Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

I've checked in with Steph and Rob to determine what will need to be done for redirects.

They've confirmed that because the redirects are going from the app to the new marketing site, DevIT will have to set them up. This will require us to supply a list of links that need redirects, with their equivalent on the new marketing site to DevIT for them to implement.

We can list the links in a userstory and assign them to Harsh if that works for everyone.

Ok. Sounds good. Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh and Ketan Sondarva, Technical Project Manager at DevIT Ketan , please take note. I'll integrate the user story into the timeline document and then we'll plan on getting this implemented the day we launch on the April 6th.

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan and Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah ,

I am confuse for this thing. You are asking me to change the old islg application marketing site page link right ?

Suppose, user click on product page on old islg application then current url is : https://www.investorstatelawguide.com/product but now will change which Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah   will provide to us.

But, my concern is if user directly paste the above URL in browser then how Industrial team will handle and redirect to new.investorstatelawguide.com ?

We can able to change menu link from old islg app but we can not able if user directly pase and old cms page link into browser.

Hope you get my point.

Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah , Please confirm.

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Yes, that would be the idea. If the user attempts to navigate to www.investorstatelawguide.com, it would automatically divert the user to new.investorstatelawguide.om (and the same thing with all the other marketing site pages).

Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah , perhaps you, Rob Ferguson, Team Lead - Web Development at Industrial Rob or Stephanie Ducasse, Web Developer at Industrial Stephanie could provide more clarify on how this would work.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah , Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

My understanding is that redirects should be set from Application Server side only so that it can redirect directly user to applied new URLs without any code modification.

Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah , please discuss this again with Rob & Step, and let us know.

Thanks,
Ketan Sondarva

Hi Ketan Sondarva, Technical Project Manager at DevIT Ketan

I brought up Harsh's concern with our dev team and they said it is possible to redirect if someone pastes the previous URL into the search bar.

However, this approach be worth confirming with Carbon60 to make sure.

Hi Savannah Mitchell, Project Manager at Industrial Savannah ,

There was my mistake that because now we don't need to display old marketing site page after launch.

But, if any user save any old marketing site page URL (ex. https://www.investorstatelawguide.com/product) and directly paste into the browser then you need to redirect to new marketing site product page.

For this kind of functionality we can't do anything at application level. You need to route that URL to your new marketing site through server.

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

We cannot setup the redirects as they are coming from the app to the new marketing site.

Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan  - it may be best to contact carbon60 to see what the best approach would be. If you let me know who the appropriate person to contact is, I can reach out.
