Parent /Dependent Fields
As we attempt the resolve the last few issues re: the parent/dependent field functionality we have encountered a technical limitation that we need you to weigh in on.
The database will not allow both Parent and Dependent fields to have add another functionality. A parent field may have 'Add another' OR a dependent field may have 'Add another' but if you add this ability to both fields the application does not understand which dependent field is associated with which parent.
See the comments in Target Process here:

Based on a conversation with Harsh this will not be easily solved so we are wondering if this is a critical issue. Harsh has reviewed the Meta Data Field Map and has not discovered a scenario where this is currently required.
Let me know if you'd like to discuss further.
Mel
I'm concerned that the not having 'add another' functions for both the parent and dependent fields will prevent us from creating the functionality necessary for the Counsel meta fields:
For example, say you have the following data to enter:
My expectation is that I will be able to enter the data as follows:
If we don't have 'add another' with both the parent and dependent fields, how will I achieve this result?
Morgan
In this case I believe you could use multi entry for the organization dependent field. Does that make sense?
Mel
If we use multi-entry, then we won't be able to add new values to the existing organization list.
I don't understand the technical limitations. Why would creating 'add another' for the parent and dependent fields create an infinite loop? Perhaps we can work through this issue.
Morgan
For example, if you already have Person 1, and you select 'add another' parent field, Person 1 would be excluded from the list of values under the additional parent field.
Morgan
Because, if user click on add new associated entry in dependent field then it will be open that particular master entry in new tab based on parent field.
But, We need to check this thing. i will update you by tomorrow and will discuss more on tomorrow's call.
From my understanding, you can associate another entry within a multi-entry dependent field as long as the parent field is not multi-entry, as Harsh has suggested above.
It sounds like we should discuss this as a group tomorrow.
Mel
Ok. If that's the case, I guess this will work, but let's discuss during the call tomorrow to confirm.
