Publishing Branches from analysis
I would like us all to get on the same page about the desired workflow for publishing branches in the master trees and citators upon approval of analysis in order to unblock this user story: https://industrialagency.tpondemand.com/entity/9839-tasks-greater-approve
My understanding is as follows:
- Document References added under existing parent branches with published status will be published upon approval/publish of document and analysis and will available to subscribers
- Document references added under existing parent branches with unpublished status will not be available to subscribers upon approval/publish of document and analysis until unpublished parent branches are published via the master tree or citator
- Document references added under New parent branches will not be available to subscribers upon approval/publish of document and analysis until new parent branches are published via the master tree or citator
In order for this to be manageable for admins we will need to make some additions to the admin side:
- Give admins an indication that the selected parent branch is unpublished during analysis and approval (either through an flag within the analysis modal or a notification upon approval that some analysis was not publisheda)
- Add filters the master trees and citators to allow admins to filter branches by updated date range, status (published/unpublished), updated by (admin)
If we are agreed I will update the requirements accordingly. Hopefully this is achievable without a tremendous change to the current implementation.

This sounds good to me, but I'd like

I want to clarify requirements concerning the following scenario:
Parent Branch A - Unpublished

What has been described above sounds good to me.

Occasionally, there will be instances where we would have Subject Navigator entries but no Article/Jurisprudence/Publication citator or Terms and Phrases entries. "Publish document" below doesn't require every research tool populated before a document can be published, right?
Everything else sounds good to me.
Thanks,
Paul
No, there is no need for all the tools to be populated for a document's relevant references to be published. Therefore, you could publish the document references for the Data Capture process first, and then subsequently publish the document references for Subject Navigator.
Morgan
That's right. Admins with the correct permissions can publish a document at any time. When publishing, only analysis marked as done and approved will be published.
Analysis for subject navigator and the citators can be published independently. Or, a document can be published without analysis if tasks haven't been started or are not yet complete.
Mel
Thanks for confirming. I am happy with what you described.
