Related documents from dispute

Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan

Harsh and I had a call this morning to review the requirements for the additional hard coded field on disputes for 'All documents from dispute'. Harsh and his team have proposed a different solution that looks like a better way to solve the problem:

Rather than adding another field to the dispute form, DevIT will create a new list in the database for Related dispute documents. This list will appear as an option when creating a dropdown/searchable dropdown.

If selected this list will automatically pull all dispute documents within the same dispute based on the dispute document you are currently editing.

This makes the most sense because there will be not limitations on parent/dependent relationships and will be simpler for admins to create.

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh  and his team will proceed with this method unless you object and will post on this thread once it's ready to review.

Hi Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa ,

Ok. That works for me.

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , how quickly can we implement this change? Can this be ready for Monday's release.

Also, we discussed creating a multi-select option within the "use values from existing fields" option. I've been thinking about this, and there are two steps for implementing this:

1. create an + add another option that allow adding a new "Reference Field" and "Data/Values Field"

2. create a multi-select option within the "Data/Values Field"

In both instances, the values from the fields would be combined and consolidated into one list, and would generate the list of options available in the field's dropdown menu.

I'm sure there are some technical constraints for this, but this would allow us to create managed fields that pull, for example, all the People records applicable to a Dispute record, similar to the requirements for the "Author of Separate Opinion" field:

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

This change which we discussed with Melisa today is near about one day work because we need to hide the  "Related Dispute Document" from other places (Ex. Document Content type Page etc.).

We are planning to complete this and uploaded for you before Monday Evening Ahmed bad time so you can start your testing by Monday onward.

Regarding second change, currently i am not aware as much but as per your explanation is looks like very complex and so much technical challenge we need to face.

Ok. Sounds good Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh . Let's implement the first part for "Related Dispute Documents" for Monday, and then I can start building out the Legal Analytics fields.

For the second change, yes this may take some more. However, I think it would be beneficial to work through these issues, because these types of requirements will be needed to build the Reports features which are scheduled for developed in Phase 4.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

Due to this change, we will provide you fresh databse like which provided ago before you start your testing.

Is it Ok for you?
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh

Sure. However, please keep any managed meta fields and miscellaneous lists I've created. I don't want to have recreate that work again.

Thanks,

Morgan

Ok Sure Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan . We will keep metafield and miscelleanous list as it is.

Also, for miscellaneous lists, please ensure we're using the following format for labeling the lists going forward:

[master list label]: [list label] List

e.g., Disputes: City List

This will help us organize and identify lists more easily. Note that this is the format used in the Dropdown Options tab of the ISLG Meta Field Map.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

We are updating miscelleanous list name as per spread sheet in drop down option tab.

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Don't worry about updating any of the existing miscellaneous lists. I believe I've already done it. Just take note going forward.

Thanks,

Morgan
