Further to the video below, there are the following issues with the members homepage:

  1. Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie , please provide alternative image and link for IMPORTANT NOTICES
  2. Inconsistent font sizes between heading links and body text
  3. Page does not adapt to different size browsers
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Hey Anil Vaghela Anil
A lot of the text sizes are inconsistent - could we follow the text styleguide Kev defined here for everything: http://tologix-member-stage.s3-website.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com/

This means that that we need to update most links (size and color) and paragraph text (size).

For important notices, the text should follow the link element style defined in the link above but for the icon, can we please use: https://fontawesome.com/icons/exclamation-triangle?style=solid

Important notices icon color: #DA0101

Thanks!

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan   and Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

The above suggested changes have been done in welcome page and uploaded on new site. We are working to set the Page will adapt to all size browsers.

Please let us know with page URL or example if you will find any inconsistent paragraph text and links.
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh this is looking awesome!

I think FAQ and Learning Centre text looks small and the links aren't quite the right style. Subscriber details on the homepage should also follow the text styles outlined so you'll want to use heading level 5 in #373a36 and paragraph text styles for that section.

On the homepage (subsciber updates), and then all of the body text in the research tools, treaties & rules, and dispute documents is all set to 13px but we have paragraph text set to 16px. Do we want to update this for consistency Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan or was there a reason for these areas using smaller text? The text throughout these areas is also pure black #000000 but we're using a very dark grey #373a36. I don't know if these areas are particularly difficult to update.

It would also be great to update the text colour in the research tools so it's the right blue? It should be #1c449c.

Morgan Maguire, CEO
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie and Anil Vaghela Anil ,

There is no reason for any of the body text to be different fonts or sizes. We attempted to keep things consistent on the current site, but as admin users, we only had access to content accessible through the admin Web Pages, and editing font through the current WYSIWYG is useless.

Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie , please determine what px is appropriate, and then let's apply it across the entire site.

Thanks,

Morgan
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Ok thanks.

So Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh In addition my comments above, all paragraph text, which includes all content within the research tools, treaties and rules and dispute documents should be 16px and #373a36.

Please use 16px and #373a36 and unbolded text for the filters in the search areas on each of these pages: http://new.investorstatelawguide.com/ResearchTools/SubjectNavigator?toc=content&id=50&tab=r and http://new.investorstatelawguide.com/disputedirectory/disputedocument?toc=disputedirectory&id=10

Please use 16px and #373a36 and unbolded text for the labels and filters in full text search: http://new.investorstatelawguide.com/ResearchTools/FullTextSearch?toc=content&id=97&tab=r

Then throughout the tool, I think we should maintain the blue text (like examples below), but we should change the blue text to #1c449c. This appears in the sub nav. JP citator, article citator, Publication citator,  treaties and rules and dispute documents.
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie   and Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

We have updated the FAQ and Learning Centre text and links font also we have updated the font in subsciber updates panel. Hence, As per our side, the all changes in welcome page have been done. Please check and confirm.

For Subject Navigator,

As per your suggestion, we have used the 16px and #373a36 font and also changed the blue text with #1c449c in Subject Navigator Tool.

http://new.investorstatelawguide.com/ResearchTools/SubjectNavigator?toc=content&id=50&kwList=26140,50416,26141,&exList=,&search=&ci=26141&searchBranchLevel=#26141

Please check and let us know, if it is OK then we will do same process for all remaining tool.
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh That's great thanks.

I think we still need to make these same updates to full text search and all of the page content. So the actual tree in Sub Navigator should be 16px as well as all other research tool lists and document lists throughout the tool. In general, we shouldn't have any 13px font unless it's for a specific reason.
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

We have set 16px font in Subject Navigator tool. Please check and let us know the feedback. If it is OK then we will apply it on other tools also.
Anil Vaghela
Hello Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

Can you also check and feedback for article citator. we have set font size to 16px. Fonts for article citator looks a little bit bigger.
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Hi Anil Vaghela Anil and Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh these tools are looking awesome. Feel free to apply to the rest. Much easier to read now!
Anil Vaghela
Ok thanks Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie  !
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie , Anil Vaghela Anil and Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

A couple of concerns with the new fonts:
  • Should we be concerned that heading text and the +All and Filter Full-Text Search are all the same colour now. Shouldn't we distinguish these from the heading text?
  • When you hover your cursor over a link (heading, +ALL, etc.), the text no longer underlines and changes colour indicating that this a link. Should we be concerned about this?
Thanks,

Morgan
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
This is a very good point Morgan - they're blending. Actually the links should all be underlined and then OnHover the line disappears.

Then for +All and Filter Full Text Search, I wonder if we can make +All a button and then that would distinguish it from Full Text Search. We'll have to then use Full Text Search black underlined. Let me know what you think Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan   about using a button for + All.
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

That sounds fine to me.

Anil Vaghela Anil and Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , let us know if you need further detail on the requirements. Note that we should apply this across the members site.

Morgan

Looks good to me.

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan   and Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

We have updated the link and font size across the site. Please check and confirm.
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh  - we still need the underlines, but it's looking good.
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

Thanks..Could we continue without underlines in subject navigator tool or is it necessary ?
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh  without the underlines, we're not being consistent so I'd rather we add them in.
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie   and Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

We have add the underline in Subject Navigator tool. Please check and confirm.
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh Looking good. Now the only thing we need is to make the line disappear onHover. See Kev's style guide > Link element: http://tologix-member-stage.s3-website.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com/

We'd then want to apply this to the rest of the site.

cc Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie , to clarify on the above, we're requesting that the underline only appear when the user hovers the cursor over the link, right? Because I don't like how everything is currently underlined.

Morgan
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ok - it can go either way. Right now in the style guide Kev made, we have links as underlines and OnHover they disappear, but we can do it the opposite if you'd prefer where links underline only on hover - whichever you prefer - as long as we're doing it consistently throughout the application.
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan just talking to Ryan and he made a good point, if we removed the underlines from links, it hurts us from an accessability perspective. If we rely only on colour for links, it makes it difficult for all users to distinguish what's clickable. So in the case of the subject navigator, we do have other indicators to show that it's clickable but elsewhere in the tool we don't. It's up to you though which you prefer- just thought I'd add this in for consideration.
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Point taken on the accessibility issues, but I would still prefer that the underlines only appear when the user hovers the cursor over the link. It looks off with everything underlined. Please update the style guide as necessary, and let's apply this consistently across the site.

Thanks,

Morgan
Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial
Ok sounds good Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan !

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh sorry, we're going to do opposite. No underlined links and only underline OnHover.
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan and Stefanie Gibson, UX Researcher at Industrial Stefanie ,

We have set the underline OnHover in member site and non member site.

Please suggest if we can do this change on other tools' content link
(e.g Subject Navigator, Article Citator, Jurisprudence Citator, Publication Citator, Terms & Phrases, Dispute Document, Full Text Search)
after post launch as this change require some more time.
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Looks good to me Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh . Yes, please apply it across the other tools on the members' site. Understood that this will take some time, and might occur post launch, but I'll keep the to-do open.
