Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan not sure if this is intentional or not but right now you can save a publication category to your research notepad. I'm guessing this is just a bug.

This isn't a bug. I don't see any reason why a user shouldn't be able to bookmark an entire publication category if they want to.
