Further to the video below, when to take an existing unassigned field and assigning it to a field set, it creates a whole new field, rather than just assigning the existing field.
This is working as expected.
There are two ways of adding a field to a field set.
In this case a copy of an existing field is added to your field set. This is intentional in order to allow common fields to be easily added to multiple field sets and maintaining the ability for the field to exist outside a field set.
When creating or editing a field, admins can choose to assign it to a field set. In this case the original instance of the field is moved inside the field set.
