Meta fields not appearing in Tagged Excerpts - HIGH PRIORITY

Notes
Hello Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh

I am having an issue with the meta-field tags in ILG where the meta fields are no longer appearing in the Tagged Excerpts.

For reference, on Monday I could view the meta fields of a tagged section in the Tagged Excerpts (under the Tag Directory) even when the document was in a draft or unpublished form. After publishing the document today, I cannot see any of the meta fields of any tag in the Tagged Excerpts.

I will upload a video showing this issue once I am able to tag documents again (please see other to-do's posted today).

Thank you,
Katrina

Hi Katrina Law, Legal Content Specialist at Tologix Katrina ,

We have checked this issue and it seems like there is issue started initially to selection of paragraph and after all activities also disturbed to manage and display meta fields and tag excerpts so my suggestion is that please do starting initially and check one by one with new document. There is no issue in functionality but yes issue is generated initially and affected further for this document.

Here, main issue is selection of paragraph you have whole document selected and getting issue initially. so we are working on this part to resolve how to over come paragraph selection issue at the time of whole page selected. but issue you have mentioned is getting due to this selection issue but it is not others functionality issues. Please check again with fresh document and let us know if you till getting any issue.

Thanks,
Jitesh

Hi Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh ,

I just wanted to touch base to confirm the status of this to-do. When I was looking at the document it seems like the meta fields are sticking after publishing the document. Can I proceed with tagging?

Thanks,
Katrina

Hi Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh ,

I am currently testing out the ILG tagging process and I came across one issue with the metafields as a tag's metafields will re-appear even if I have deleted it. Can you please fix this issue so that when I delete the metafields from a tag they stop reappearing?

For example in the video below, I just want the tag Termination for Force Majeure to apply to s.44.1, but even if I delete the metafields, they will reappear.

Thanks,
Katrina

Also, to confirm Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh , do I need to publish the Project Agreement so that I can view the tagged excerpts in the Tag Directory? And if so, is it alright for me to publish the document?

Thanks,
Katrina

Hi Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh ,

Following up on Katrina Law, Legal Content Specialist at Tologix Katrina 's comments above, could you please confirm when tagged excerpts are supposed to appear in the Tag Director? It appears they only appear within the directory after the document is published.

Also, Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi , could you confirm whether this aligns with the design requirements?

In addition, Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh , let's ensure the issue Katrina Law, Legal Content Specialist at Tologix Katrina reported concerned the deletion of meta field within specific excerpts is resolved. Default meta field values are set at the tag directory level, but should still be removable when the user is editing a specific tagged excerpt.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh ,

I wasn't asking whether tagged excerpts appear in the Tag Directory. I was asking when the tagged excerpt appear in the Tag Directory. Do they only appear in the directory after a document is published, or will the excerpts appear when they are inserted into a draft? The excerpts used to appear in the directory as soon as they were added to the draft document. Has there been a change in the requirements?

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi your input on this issue would be helpful.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

Looking into this, the criteria does not specify when a tagged excerpt should appear in the tag directory (upon publish or before), however in testing this today, tagged excerpts are appearing with meta-fields in the tag directory upon clicking "save draft":
or clicking "done tagging":
and these are both prior to the document being published. I think this should be the expected behaviour, as it would be logical that once an excerpt has been tagged, it will be reflected throughout the admin application in the relevant places.

I did however log a bug, as the tagged excerpt information is not showing a complete count of the total number of applicable tags. This bug is logged here: https://industrialagency.tpondemand.com/RestUI/Board.aspx#page=board/5661532064567160038&appConfig=eyJhY2lkIjoiNTBFODBFN0M1RkNFMDJDREQ3MjFFRjYwM0NFNzdGQUQifQ==&boardPopup=bug/19985

I hope this was helpful, and please note this was tested on the dev environment. I can try the same scenario on the infrastructurelawguide.com site if that would be useful.

Thanks Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi . Yes, that's very helpful.

However, if that's the expected behaviour, what happens when there is a conflict between the draft and published version of the document? For example, what if the excerpt in the published version has meta field values assigned to it, but the draft version has the meta field values removed? Which version would be presented in the tag directory?

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan

In this case I would still recommend that the tag directory reflect what is most current. In this scenario, if a document has been published where the tag has certain meta field values, and an admin creates a draft version from this document and changes/removes those meta field values - upon saving the draft, the tag directory should be updated to reflect this change. When the document is re-published subscribers will see this change as well that would match what an admin sees in the tag directory.
