A follow-up questions here:

Is this only a requirement for lists managed through meta-field management?

Hi Melissa ,

Yes, this is just for lists managed through meta-field management. There will be no need to add new documents or projects on the fly. All new projects and documents will be manually added directly through their respective master lists.

Also, assuming we can easily add the requested feature. Is it also possible to remove the requirement of having any values assigned to a meta field? Currently, I'm forced to add at least one value to a meta field before I'm allowed to create it, but I'd like to create fields that will only have values created when the editor performs data capture analysis. Also, why are we requiring default values? I understand why this may be required for required fields, but if the field is not required, the default value should be optional as well.

A comment concerning Adding values to list:

Wouldn't it make more sense to make this a field option when creating the meta field rather having this apply to all searchable dropdown menus?

The admin would need to select the option for the ability to add values to a list, and they would also need to select the applicable list, because some fields may have multiple lists assigned to the field.

Also, this option would only be available for dropdown menus and searchable dropdown menus.
