TOLOGIX - ISLG App Rebuild

Bug with alternative documents (change is document fields)

Notes
Further to the video below, my understanding is that when documents are grouped as alternate documents, certain fields are shared between the documents (Dispute, Proceeding Stage (to be removed) and Document Type). Therefore, if I change the values in these fields, it should affect the same field in all the documents belonging to the same group. It does not appear to be the case. Currently, I am either unable to save changes to the shared fields or the changes only get applies to current documents, rather than all the documents in the group.

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Made this a high priority items since we should probably resolve this issue before the migration.

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan and Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi ,

We did this change. if you change the document type then it will be updated in all alternative documents.

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi , In above target process story, you mentioned that if document type will change in primary document then it will be shared that document type with all alternative documents but we should always update document type in same grouping documents. No need to check the document is primary or not.

One more thing Morgan, As per following screenshot, You should click on "Update" button when you will change the Document Type because we need to populate all the Meta Fields  based on updated document type and then on "Save Draft" button all meta fields value will be updated.

Hence, When you change the Document Type the "Update" button should to press before click on "Save Draft" button.

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Ok. I believe the issue is resolved.

I agree, you should be able to change the document type from any version (not just the primary).

Duly noted about selecting Update before saving the draft. However, I'm wondering if we should automatically "Update" if the admin user selects "Save Draft". Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa and Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi what are your thoughts?

I believe the issue is that a user needs to "submit" the change of document type in order to update the form and therefor this action cannot be completed on 'save draft'.

OK. That's fine. We'll keep things as is, and admin users will adapt to the requirements. Irit Weinfeld Irit , Paul Moon Paul and Nafiseh Arghandehpour, Legal Content Manager at ISLG Nafiseh take note.

Thanks,

Morgan
