TOLOGIX - ISLG App Rebuild

Highlighted text moved from from where they were originally created after DevIT makes corrections on app.islg (IC/0499/16)

Notes
After DevIT makes corrections on app.islg, we noticed that some highlighted text in Analysis are moved from where they were originally.  Making a correction to a particular paragraph on app.islg can affect highlighted text throughout the HTML.

See for example IC/0499/16, para 32. The red boxes shows where the highlighted text was originally.  After DevIT made corrections to paragraph 40 on app.islg, the highlighted text in paragraph 32 moved, as you see in the screen capture below:

We have seen this happen before.

Can this be resolved?

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Can you help us understand how we fix that offset issue today? Do we change the HTML code? Do we make changes to the database table that holds the tags information?

Thanks,

Hi Martin Laporte, CTO at Tologix Martin and Irit Weinfeld Irit ,

There was formatting issue in html. It means the additional space was added in html. The issue is resolved now on app.islg.

Please check and confirm.

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , Martin Laporte, CTO at Tologix Martin and Irit Weinfeld Irit

The highlights in the following paragraphs are still not shown where they were created in the first place:

The ones that are shown with "red" are where I highlighted yellow, and added tags for the article citator, and the ones shown with "green" are where I created grey highlights, and added unassigned references.

Please let me know if this is something that could be fixed or I should get rid of them and add them again.

Thanks,

Nafiseh

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh Martin Laporte, CTO at Tologix Martin , to add to Nafiseh's message above, is there a way to prevent this from happening going forward?

Hi Irit Weinfeld Irit and Nafiseh Arghandehpour, Legal Content Manager at ISLG Nafiseh ,

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh had a session with Akash Buch Akash today on best practices of modifying an HTML document that has already been tagged. I believe that this step alone will help minimize these types of issues.

Additionally, we will add a layer of QA to this process by doing the following steps:
  1. When a document that is already tagged needs HTML changes, please send the request to Akash Buch Akash and also CC Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh .
  2. Once Akash has made the changes, Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh will ask Darsh Shah, DevIT Darsh to perform a check on the document to ensure that tags are still in their proper positions.

Let me know if you have any questions. If everyone is ok with this change, we will start using the new process right away.

Thanks,
--Martin

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Other than one tag, the other ones look good.

I removed the current tag and added it again.

Martin Laporte, CTO at Tologix Martin : The change sounds good to me. I will send my requests to Akash and CC Harsh going forward when a document that is already tagged needs HTML changes.

I'll mark this to-do as complete once Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan and Paul Moon Paul confirm the change.

Thanks,

Nafiseh
