TOLOGIX - ISLG App Rebuild

Notifications within Followed Topics when changes made to Dispute form

Assigned to
Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa C. Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi J.
Notes
Further to the video below, currently is appears that changes in data entered into the Dispute form do not trigger notifications for Followed Dispute, Treaties and Arbitration Rules. Could you confirm whether this is a deficiency in the requirements or another bug in the Followed Topics feature.

What I'm hoping to achieve here is to allow users to receive notifications for all instances when new data relevant to Treaties, Arbitration Rules, People, Organizations and Countries is added to the applicable Dispute form, which would translate into the following:
  • Followed Topic: Dispute
    • A notification is sent to the user if data in any of the fields is changed or added in the Dispute form (including all Dispute Details fields and Legal Analytics Details)
  • Followed Topic: Treaty
    • A notification is sent to the user if the followed treaty is entered into the Applicable Instrument(s) field within a Dispute form
  • Followed Topic: Arbitration Rules
    • A notification is sent to the user if the followed arbitration rules is entered into the Applicable Rules field within a Dispute form
  • Followed Topic: Person
    • A notification is sent to the user if the followed person is entered into any of the fields under the following fields sets
      • COUNSEL
      • EXPERTS
      • TRIBUNAL
      • ANNULMENT COMMITTEE
      • TRIBUNAL (RESUBMISSION)
      • ANNULMENT COMMITTEE (RESUBMISSION)
      • ARBITRATOR(S) CHALLENGES
      • COUNSEL CHALLENGES
  • Followed Topic: Organization
    • A notification is sent to the user if the followed organization is entered into any of the fields under the following fields sets
      • COUNSEL
      • EXPERTS
  • Followed Topic: Country
    • A notification is sent to the user if the followed organization is entered into any of the fields under the following fields sets
      • PARTIES
      • PLACE OF ARBITRATION
      • TRIBUNAL
      • ANNULMENT COMMITTEE
      • TRIBUNAL (RESUBMISSION)
      • ANNULMENT COMMITTEE (RESUBMISSION)

Hi Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa and Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi ,

Could you confirm whether the requirements I've outlined above are beyond what is currently setup with the Followed Topics feature. I understand that Followed Topics for People, Organizations and Countries is not available, because we haven't completed the Followed Topics feature within ISLG Report, but I want to confirm that there isn't a regression issue when following a Dispute or Treaty/Arbitration Rules.

Post-launch, we'll want to make it a priority for us to implement the requirements above.

Also, please note the bug in Followed Topics for Treaties and Arbitration Rules:

Thanks,

Morgan
Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

Both of the above scenarios are expected behaviour for following a dispute and being notified of a change on the dispute record, and also being notified when your followed treaty/rule is applicable to a dispute.

Maybe Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh  could explain what is happening, if there is a bug across the whole of notifications feature?
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Great. Thanks Darsh Shah, DevIT Darsh . Because the deployment is in app.islg, and we can't modify any content for testing purposes. We'll wait until the changes are deployed on staging.islg before thuroughly testing everything.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

Today, We are deploying following 3 tasks on app.islg. Once deployment is done on app.islg then tomorrow will sync app.islg and staging.islg.

Once syncing process will be done then Naomi can test on staging.islg.

I will update you once it will be done.
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Great. Sounds good, Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh .

Morgan Maguire, CEO
Great. Thanks Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh .

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi , now that all the features concerning Followed Topics are deployed on staging.islg. Could you please perform a round of UAT on the relevant features to confirm that everything is setup a working as required.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan

I've completed a round of testing on this feature and found most followed topics are working as expected, but there seem to be two items that aren't working and one I'm highlighting that was never developed but may want to be revisited post-launch to implement when we implement the followed topic in ISLG reports.
Let me know if I should log any bugs in TargetProcess or if mentioning them through here is clear enough.

Thanks,

Naomi

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

As discussed, please determine how easily we can resolved the issues above. Issue #1 and #3 are a higher priority, but issue #2 can be resolved at a later date if will require significant development work.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Further to Paul Moon Paul 's issue above, it appears he's receiving multiple emails from the same notification. Note in the examples Paul Moon Paul has highlighted above, there was only 1 in-app notification, but he has been receiving an email notification every few minutes from system ever since. Could you please investigate and get this resolved as a high priority in the app.islg, because this could be affecting subscribers as well.

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi , is this something you've experienced with any of your testing?

Thanks,

Morgan
Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

No I didn't experience this when testing it last week on staging.
I received one email per notification/followed topic.
Morgan Maguire, CEO
OK. Thanks Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi .

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , I'm not sure what is causing the issues Paul Moon Paul , but let's investigate and resolve as a priority.

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Just following-up on the issues reported above, could you provide an update on whether we'll be able to get this resolved as a high priority bug. As mentioned, I'm concerned that subscriber may be experiencing a similar issue.

Thanks,

Morgan
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan ,

Hi Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi ,

As per your attached video on 16th April for 1st item has been resolved on staging.islg. Please check and confirm.

Regarding Paul issue for multiple mail, We are not able to find the issue as it is working properly. Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi , Could you please check Paul issue as well.

The Criteria is if you followed any dispute and if any admin user anytime click on Save & Draft or Save & Exit then you will get notification for same dispute.
Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial
Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh

I've checked for that issue and I'm still not receiving a notification for a new dispute document added to a followed dispute.

I've checked this on staging with the same dispute that is shown in the above video.

Please let me know how you think I should proceed here.

Thanks,

Naomi

Thanks Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi .

Paul Moon Paul , could you confirm whether the email issue is still occurring? Also, could you provide the name of dispute you're planning to publish content on this week, and then I can setup a test as well?

Thanks,

Morgan
Paul Moon
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan :

I turned off the email notification after reporting the issue, so I am not getting bombarded with repeated emails. We will be releasing a new court judgment for Hulley Enterprises v. Russia (UN/0039), so you can use that dispute as an example.

Thanks,

Paul
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Thanks Paul Moon Paul . I've followed the following: app.investorstatelawguide.com/DisputeDocuments?dis=FF1nZLuLu-0=. Let me know when you publish content on this dispute.

Also, do you mind turning the email notification on for the topic you had trouble with above to confirm whether it is still triggering the emails?

Morgan
Paul Moon
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan :

I published UN/0039/54.

I turned on the email notification that bombarded me, but I get the emails again as shown below while UN/0039/54 refers to neither Hydro v. Albania nor Funnekotter v. Zimbabwe.

Thanks,

Paul
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Thanks Paul Moon Paul .

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , is there a way for you to access Paul Moon Paul 's account and determine why this keeps happening with these notifications.

Also, note that I just received a notification for Hulley Enterprises v. Russia and it appeared to work as expected.

Hi Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi ,

Could you please check with follow new dispute and then again publish the dispute document under same dispute on staging.islg.
Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial
Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh

I tested this and I did receive a notification for a newly added dispute document under a different dispute. I also at the same time received the notification for the previous dispute I tried to test for yesterday.. I'm not sure why it was delayed?

Thanks,

Naomi
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Hi Paul Moon Paul ,

Further to Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh 's instructions below, could you remove the notifications that are causing problems and then add new ones that will be published this week to see if the issue occurs again.

Thanks,

Morgan
Paul Moon
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan :

On staging.islg, I followed UN/0041 Veteran Petroleum and published a document. I correctly received one email notification.

On app.islg, I followed UN/0040 Yukos Universal and published a document. I correctly received one email notification.

It appears the issue is confined to Hydro v. Albania and Funnekotter v. Zimbabwe.

Thanks,

Paul
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Thanks Paul Moon Paul .

Do we have any content for Hydro v. Albania and Funnekotter v. Zimbabwe that we'll publishing any time soon. If so, we could delete your current Followed Topics, add them back and see if that resolves the issue.

Morgan
Paul Moon
Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan :

We don't have any new content for Hydro v. Albania and Funnekotter v. Zimbabwe, but I ran the following test on app.islg.

I deleted existing Followed Topics and added them back. I followed Hydro v. Albania as a Dispute and Funnekotter v. Zimbabwe Award 22 April 2009 as a Dispute Document. Once I created draft and published Hydro v. Albania Annulment Decision (IC/0249/07), I received one notification; the problem is no longer present.

However, once I created draft and published  Funnekotter v. Zimbabwe Award 22 April 2009 (IC/0098/01), I do not get any notification. It looks like Following a topic at the dispute level works, but not at the Dispute Document level.

Paul
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Thanks Paul Moon Paul . Could you provide a screenshot and URL (use the Copy Location function) to indicate exactly where you followed the topic that didn't produce the notification.

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi Paul Moon Paul ,

Could you please provide video that in which scenario you are not able to getting notification on staging.islg ?

We tried from our end to followed the Dispute Document and published the draft version and we get notification.
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Hi Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh ,

Following-up on Paul Moon Paul 's video above, note that publishing these changes to IC/0098/01 on staging.islg did create notifications within the Dashboard: https://staging.investorstatelawguide.com/Dashboard
Therefore, I would expect because  Paul Moon Paul  followed that document within Followed Topic, he would have received a notification.

Morgan
Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT
Hi  Paul Moon Paul ,

As per requirement, you can not get dispute document notification when you just published the dispute document.

For Followed Dispute Document, as per requirement if that dispute document using in JC tool and then you published the document then you will get notification.

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi , Please clarify to Paul Moon Paul   for above video.
Paul Moon
Hi Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi :

When I follow a dispute document, not a dispute, do I get a notification only if there is a change to its analysis list (citator entries or SN entries)?

If that is the case, I'll mark this complete once you confirm.

Thanks,

Paul
Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial
Hi Paul Moon Paul

There is no notification for a change in the dispute document record fields like there is for disputes. You would get a notification when there has been analysis performed, like SN entries for example.

I think you can likely mark this complete in this case.

Thanks,

Naomi
Paul Moon
Thanks for confirming, Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi .

Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan : all my issues are resolved, but I'll let you mark this complete in case there is anything outstanding from your initial request.

Paul
Morgan Maguire, CEO
Ok. Great. Marking to-do complete.

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , could you please deploy the latest changes to app.islg during the next deployment window.

Thanks,

Morgan
