Further to the video below, the Common URL Source fields need to be examined and probably changed. The purpose of these fields is create a centralized list of commonly used URLs that can be linked to numerous documents as a common sources. A key requirement to these fields is to give the admin user the ability to make edits to the applicable URLs when they change, and have those changes apply across all database entries that are linked to that URL value. However, the current setup does not allow for the admin user to edit existing URL values, which defeats the whole purpose of this field.
Also, why are these fields hard coded? It would be far more useful if we could add these fields to areas of the database as the content evolves.
I recall at one point recommending that this feature may not be required due to the infrequency of the situation occurring.
This is complex functionality that would be better handled by the development team running a query and updating the relevant strings.

It looks as though we never closed the loop on this discussion. It may be worthwhile having

I am trying to determine whether or not we need to pursue this or it could be adressed on an ad hoc basis as needed. Could you take a look at some of the placeholders and their Common URL Source and how they appear on the live site now? Also, can you edit it in anyway?
Thanks,
Paul
Please respond to my request above, thanks.

I missed this request above. I'll have a look next week.

I believe this task can be marked as complete.
I think this can be addressed on an ad hoc basis. We covered this when we did a broken URL audit a while ago. I remember that we were able to make edits for all placeholder UINs referring to the UNCTAD search page URL.
Thanks,
Irit
