Problem with presentation of fields within advanced filters

Notes
Further to the video below, we need to make an adjustment in the way fields are presented within advanced filters (and other features where fields from the Dispute form are presented - e.g., ISLG Reports). Currently fields are presented in alphabetical order, but we need to change this so that the fields are presented in the order they appear within the Dispute form, along with context on whether the field is a parent/child to other fields.

Note this may cause an issue with the requirement to combine fields within the same field set that have the same field name and value list (e.g., "Arbitrator" and "Appointed By" fields within the Tribunal field set). However, perhaps this could be dealt with as follows:

In Dispute form on admin site, the fields in the Tribunal Field set as follows:

which could be presented as follows in the advanced filter:
  • Arbitrator (President)
    • President Appointed By
  • Arbitrator
    • Appointed By
  • Tribunal Secretary
The two instances of "Arbitrator" and "Appointed By" are combined and presented as single filter options.

This would mean we would need to add an additional requirement to combining multiple fields into a single filter options:
  1. Fields are within the same field set;
  2. Fields have same field label;
  3. Fields pull values from the same value list; and
  4. Fields have the same parent/child fields (i.e., all parent/child fields also have the same field labels and same value lists).
The fourth condition is the new condition, but would apply to all the fields that are currently getting combined.

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan

I'm sorry about that! Try again now, I've assigned it to the DevIT team.

Looks good Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi . Should we make a note about fields that are combined, or will that be addressed through the existing requirements?
