For JP entries, there is no option to enter a single paragraph reference. Analysts have to enter a range of paragraphs and go back to delete the non-relevant paragraph(s) to leave a single paragraph reference. Irit Weinfeld Irit and I first discovered this issue last Friday between 4-7 p.m. PST, but it was resolved after. Now we're falling within that time frame again in Vancouver, the problem came back.

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi can you please confirm whether the above is user error.

Thanks,

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan and Paul Moon Paul ,

I think there are two issues happening here. Firstly, it seems that the document you are referencing (IC/0053/01) though converted, is not pulling paragraph tags for some reason. This is why no paragraphs are appearing for you to select, and you are not able to enter in a single paragraph number to create the reference (like you could with a PDF only document). This issue is document specific, and would need to be addressed with DevIT.

The second issue, is that you are able to create paragraph ranges for paragraphs that don't exist in the system (which is what is happening in the above scenario). That is a bug, because if the document has been through the converter, and paragraphs are available to pull from, the user should only be able to create ranges from paragraphs that are identified as such through the paragraph tags.

OK. Thanks Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi . Could you please report the bug in TargetProcess and mark this as high priority for Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh and Ketan Sondarva, Technical Project Manager at DevIT Ketan to resolve.

Regarding the issues with the HTML, Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh and Jitesh Dhuravala, DevIT Jitesh could you please consult and determine if there is a structural problem with the HTML for IC/0053/01 that is causing the problem described above. If so, could you please fix the HTML and post a copy of the updated HTML below for us to update our records. Also, if there is a problem with the HTML, how did this document pass QC technical review within the automated conversion process?

Thanks,

Morgan

Thanks for letting me know, Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi .

I can confirm that if the HTML is uploaded, I can select a single paragraph reference. This leads to my next question: there are a lot of documents that we will not HTML and simply upload the PDF, and often times tribunals would refer to specific paragraphs of those PDF only documents (e.g., IC/0108/18). How can we enter those paragraph specific references? As shown below, I cannot enter paragraph 82 of IC/0108/18 (a hypothetical example), because there is no HTML of IC/0108/18 (and there won't be any).

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul Moon Paul ,

I will let Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi confirm but I believe you'll treat these documents in the same way you treat Non-Investment Treaty documents where you manually input the paragraph number (e.g. pa82).

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan :

That's what I thought, so I was expecting to be able to "Create 82" in the example above, but I am unable to. I'll wait for Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi 's response.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul Moon Paul

As Morgan said for documents that only have the PDF uploaded, you should be able to refer to them by manually creating the paragraph tags in the field. Is IC/0108/18 a PDF only document?
Paul Moon
Hi Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi :

Yes, IC/0108/18 is a PDF only document that is uploaded/published/active on app.islg admin site. I wonder if any document that appears under Dispute Documents Master List (e.g., IC/0108/18) is treated differently from Non-Investment Treaty Documents (NU/######) in terms of our ability to create paragraph/footnote specific references when it is a PDF only document.

Thanks,

Paul

Naomi Joanis, UX Team Lead at Industrial Naomi and Melissa Cowell, General Manager at Industrial Melissa , following up on Paul Moon Paul 's comment above, is this a bug or deficiency in the requirements?

Harsh Parikh, Tech Lead at DevIT Harsh , should we be able to refer to PDF only dispute documents when doing analysis in the Jurisprudence Citator?

Thanks,

Morgan

Hi Morgan Maguire, CEO Morgan and Paul Moon Paul ,

It is working on app.islg. You can refer only PDF file. Paul Moon Paul once you enter 82 number then below you get option to Create. You should click on create button to make pill of 82.

Please refer following screenshot.
