❏ Unique URLs within applications

Further to the video below, the admin site does not appear to have unique URLs when editing entries in the master lists. This raises the concern that we will not be able to use URL as a method of directing users to particular points in the application (particularly for the Subscriber site). Ideally every single master list entry would have its own unique URL that includes the UIN so that it can be identified and used to link into the application from third party sources.
Before we triage the above to-do it probably warrants a discussing during our next team meeting. There are three questions that I'd like answered:
Morgan
Following up on the to-do and questions above, we had a meeting today with Quietly, who provided us with a presentation on recommendations for increasing SEO. One of the recommendations was to include unique, identifying URLs across the application. This would mean that a when a user navigates to a tool or document, the URL would be reflect title of the relevant tool and content. For example, if a user navigated to the ICSID Convention in the Document Library, the URL would look something like: https://www.investorstatelawguide.com/DoucmentLibrary/Treaties&Rules/ICSIDConvention.
Is there a way for us to set this up in the application, particularly for pages that will be appearing publicly through the marketing site?
Thanks,
Morgan
Following up on discussions this morning, let's ensure user story requirements are written to ensure unique URLs are displayed across all the marketing site pages, and to potentially integrate hard coded meta fields that could be used for SEO purposes. Please move this to-do to ISLG Team Feedback - required before launch - TOLOGIX - ISLG App Rebuild when the requirements are written. However, the second part about the hard coded meta fields could be categories under ISLG Team Feedback - preference before launch - TOLOGIX - ISLG App Rebuild. Therefore, we may need to deal with these under a separate to-do.
Thanks,
Morgan
The card regarding the meta tag fields for SEO purposes has been created here: https://industrialagency.tpondemand.com/restui/board.aspx?#page=userstory/16852&searchPopup=bug/16929.
Regarding the unique URLS, we would like to write the criteria into the user stories for the marketing site. Our proposal would be for these to be dynamically generated based on the path and the page title, although it would be great for you or anyone from Quietly to confirm which values would be the most important to include here.
In the above case, for example, it would look like: investorstatelawguide.com/dispute-document-library/<dispute title>/<dispute document full citation>.
The card regarding the meta tag fields looks good.
Regarding the unique URLs, writing criteria into the user stories for the marketing site sounds like a good idea, and the example you've provided seems appropriate to me.
Thanks,
Morgan
In addition to the above, during our call on July 23rd, we talked about exposing the URLs across the subscribers site when possible (i.e., without compromising the security of the site). We want to ensure URLs can be used to create links to specific content on ISLG from external sources (e.g., third party websites and offline working documents).
To give you an example, we currently have an arrangement with italaw.com where content appearing on their site is linked to relevant content on ISLG: https://www.italaw.com/cases/2456
We need to ensure similar links are available in the new ISLG, so that we can maintain these third party links.
Thanks,
Morgan
The example above sounds good from our perspective. I think writing things into user stories will help ensure that the way titles are being structured corresponds to the intent of potential users as well.

Have all the requirements discussed in the comments above been integrated into the applicable user stories?
Thanks,
Morgan
Criteria regarding URLs on the Marketing site has been written, in that project in TargetProcess.
The criteria regarding URLs on the subscriber site, as I understand still remains to be discussed with
Thanks,
Naomi
I'll add it to the agenda for discussion tomorrow, and then we can write user stories as required for the subscriber site.
Thanks,
Morgan
Based on our call yesterday we wrote criteria for the 'copy location' functionality to be added to the actions menus across the application.
Please see the criteria here: https://industrialagency.tpondemand.com/restui/board.aspx?#page=board/5596457270758793748&appConfig=eyJhY2lkIjoiNEIyRDU0NTZFNkFEOUY1MUQwQzA5QzI5QjBBNjM1OTMifQ==&boardPopup=userstory/17691/silent
This story in Target Process is done. Could you please mark completed this task in basecamp.
There is still another card within this thread, that has an open status: https://industrialagency.tpondemand.com/restui/board.aspx?#page=userstory/16852&searchPopup=bug/16929.
