Problems with Group Manager activation - PENDING MIGRATION

Further to the video, I encountered a number of problems with attempting to create/activate a Group Manager account. The issues include the following:
  • creating an account through admin site while assigning the account to a group does not resulted in an activation email getting sent to the user (should have normal activation email).
  • When an admin user creates a new user account, assigns the account to a group and assigns the user as the group manager (i.e., the account creation and group manager assignment occur simultaneously), please ensure a custom activation email is sent (see Copy for User Account and Group Manager activation email" Word document below with copy).
  • When a user account already exists, and the admin user subsequently assigns it as a the group manager, please ensure a custom email is sent (see "Copy for Group Manager activation email" Word document below with copy).
  • The password reset is no longer creating anonymous characters when entering characters into the new password field.
  • The system allows assigning an account as a group manager even then they are not assigned to a group.

I'm not sure how the issues identified in this to-do are related to this to-do:  Need to create new status for active but pending user action - TOLOGIX - ISLG Maintenance. That to-do focuses only on the status displayed for user accounts when an account is pending activation. Whereas this to-do focuses on issues with activation emails, password resets and group manager assignments. Please ensure these issue are examined and resolved.

In addition to Ryan Knuth, Customer Support Manager at Industrial Ryan 's comments above, I experienced the following issues:
  • While creating a user account on the admin site, I added the account to a group. When submitting and activating the account, the account was created and marked as pending, but no activation email was ever sent to the user. (item #1 in my original requirements for this to-do.)
  • While creating a user account on the admin site, I added the account to a group and assigned the account as the group manager. When submitting and activating the account, the user was not sent an activation email with the appropriate copy (see "Copy for User Account and Group Manager activation email"). (item #2 in my original requirements for this to-do.)
  • With an account that already exists and is activated, I assigned the account as the group manager, and the user was not sent an activation emails with the appropriate copy (see "Copy for Group Manager activation email"). (item #2 in my original requirements for this to-do.)
  • items #3 in my original requirements is resolved. The password change field is now anonymized. However, it doesn't have the "show" option available at the Login page. Could we please include this option.     • I discovered and additional issue while testing this requirement, is if the user selects the link contained in an activation/forgot password email that has already been acted on (i.e., the account was activated or the password was reset), it redirects the user to the homepage. I understand the reason behind this, because the link should become invalid after it's used. However, rather than redirect them to the homepage, I think it would make more sense to send them to Login page. Could we please make this modification.
  • item # 4 in my original requirements is resolved.

Following, First 3 issues are working well and we got all the emails.

  • While creating a user account on the admin site, I added the account to a group. When submitting and activating the account, the account was created and marked as pending, but no activation email was ever sent to the user. (item #1 in my original requirements for this to-do.)  - We have received the normal activation mail. Please see below attached screenshot.
  • While creating a user account on the admin site, I added the account to a group and assigned the account as the group manager. (item #2 in my original requirements for this to-do.)  - We have received the User Account and Group Manager activation email. Please see below attached screenshot.

(item #2 in my original requirements for this to-do.) - We have received the Group Manager activation email. Please see below attached screenshot.

  • Group Manager create account email > Missing link for "here" -  This change has been done on dev.islg.

  • When creating a new user, and setting them as Group Manager I get the invite to be the manager of "Tologix Development", but if I unassign my rknuth+0530@industrialagency.ca as Group Manager, then reassign it as Group Manager, I get an error message that tells me there is already a Group Manager. Should I have gotten that message when I created the new user and made them the Group Manager?  -  We are not able to reproduce this issue. Could you please provide some testing scenario ?

  • When making rknuth+0531-2@industrialagency.ca the Group Manager for Tologix Development, I didn't receive the Group Manager notification email - This issue is working fine on dev.islg.

When submitting and activating the account, the user was not sent an activation email with the appropriate copy (see "Copy for User Account and Group Manager activation email"). (item #2 in my original requirements for this to-do.) - resolved; however, please ensure new HTML formatting is applied to all automated emails. 
  • items #3 in my original requirements is resolved. The password change field is now anonymized. However, it doesn't have the "show" option available at the Login page. Could we please include this option.
